Colourful Crochet

Loop is incredibly proud to host a crochet workshop with Kathryn Merrick, crocheter-extraordinaire! Saturday's class will be a masterclass in making the Crescent Shawl featured in Interweave Crochet Winter 2012 and Sunday's class will be making the Double Dutch Blanket and/or Shawl, and tips on making Babette.

Day workshop (£120*)
Saturday
Kathryn Merrick will be teaching her Crescent Shawl, a simple piece made up of wedges of colour that gives the crocheter a chance to play with lots of colours.
While we’re making our projects, Kathryn will be talking (a lot!) about how to make pleasing colour combinations for all your projects. We’ll be looking at where to find colour inspiration and how to use what inspires us. There will also be playing with groups of yarns and what we don’t think works. Kathryn will have lots of swatches and pieces for examples.
Sunday
We’ll be making the Double Dutch Blanket, a project Kathryn has made exclusively for Loop London. It’s a modular blanket, made of sophisticated colours of alpaca wool and includes small flower motifs.
We’ll still be talking about colour but also about tension and joining both straight crocheting and motifs. We’ll examine some motifs and how to use them. And there will be tips and tricks for sophisticated crocheting.
This is NOT a beginners' learn to crochet class. Students must have basic beginner crochet skills.
Taught by Kathryn Merrick
