"I first started knitting over a decade ago, completing an entire sweater for myself as a first project. Not being able to stop since, it seems making clothes is in my blood: my grandparents owned a men's tailoring shop in Washington DC and my grandmother in Goa also made lovely intricate crocheted items. That's where I first learned to crochet from a family friend on a hot day with the local lizards watching!
Originally educated in English Literature, I wrote my MA thesis on knitting in women's writing, to be published shortly. My article on colour in Regency fashion will also be published shortly in a special Jane Austen-themed issue of Interweave Knits magazine. Doing research for these projects has enabled me to appreciate the history of knitting in the past and the amazing culture of knitting we have today. I believe every handmade item has a history knitted right into it." *Please note price does not include yarn. We will have circular needles and double pointed needles on hand for you to use. Classes are held in the shop. Maximum of 7 students per class. 100% deposit is required at registration.
