Hannah’s Fettig of KnitBot has new collection of six unstructured knits called 'Knitbot linen'. They are all in the lovely Quince & Co. Sparrow, our Yarn of the Month and with 6 new colours this season!
Loop will endeavour to bring you news and events of knitting, crochet and fibre-based happenings!
Find us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter or try out some projects over at loopknitlounge!
» These are great for when you're knitting on the move! Yarn pop gadgety bags have grommets that allow yarn to be threaded through. The ball of yarn stays safely inside the bag pocket, instead of rolling out and across a crowded, moving bus!... (we're not the only ones that’s happened to, right?)
» A great accessory to work on in summer too – cowls usually take one or two skeins of yarn and you can build up a collection to give away as Christmas presents come winter. See our collection of favourite cowl patterns, and if you still want more, check out Cowl Girl with 35 patterns, so you won’t be short of gift ideas!
Summer is for socks!
» Planning our summer knitting means summer socks are go! Small, portable projects that can build our winter gift giving stash… or end up on our own feet, come autumn. Juju has given us her own version of a sock with an afterthought heel (Free PDF!) as well as lots of pics detailing the process...
» A lovely new book by the designer Alana Dakos of Never Not Knitting it features 12 designs inspired by plants and foliage. We also stock her single patterns (including the apt Cloudy Day Hat!)
Wedding shawl season!
» With springtime comes wedding season, and for knitters that often means it’s time to knit something that celebrates that momentous occasion; a wedding is one of those circumstances where the significance of hand-knitting comes into its own. Check out these wedding shawl patterns and yarn suggestions...
» We have long been fans of Knit Collage and were the very first shop in the world to place an order for their yarns!. Always looking for a new way to knit with these fab balls of colour, Juju designed this FREE PATTERN using one ball of KnitCollage and one of mohair. Check it out along with some colour palette suggestions...
» There are three new BSA shawl and wrap patterns using BSA's Metalico yarn; Daisy - a fashionable crocheted wrap of etched waves and flowers (shown right) - , Frances - a knitted art deco wrap - & Zelda - designed by Rose Beck and a textural and glamorous wrap.
Hankering after Hand-Dyes
» Here at Loop, we can't get enough of hand-dyed yarns. It's not uncommon for us to open a box from one of the lovely hand-dyers whose yarns we stock and gasp in awe of the deep, rich colours they manage to produce...
The Fibre Company book
» A collection of Kelbourne Woolens/The Fibre Company's most popular patterns from their 2008 - 12 archive. Eleven designs highlight the best of the best from the first five years of Kelbourne Woolens. Included are favorites 'Springtime Bandit', the 'Hiker's Waistcoat' and 'Selbu Modern.
Beat the block!
» Get confused around the issues of blocking your finished knits?. To wet block or steam? Use blocking wires or not? Iron, steam or leave to dry? Check out Juju's blocking tips on the blog, and once you're confident get the blocking tools you need from the shop...
» We have a new Loop pattern available; a crescent shaped shawl with pop-out spots.
Only one colour is worked at a time, stitches are then dropped to create the spots and texture. Knit loose for a lacy shawl, tighter if you want a cosy one!
The Miga de Pan Lions & Elephants are made entirely by hand in Argentina. They are crocheted and hand embroidered in 100% cotton thread. Machine washable they are perfect for little ones, or for 'bigger ones' they are valued as handmade design objects and unique, authentic pieces!
Kate Davies patterns
» Loop is showcasing Kate Davies for the first time... Patterns includes the cute Owl sweater, as well as *NEW* Betty Mouat Cowl (pictured). Beautiful colourwork and stunning patterns are also another hallmark of Kate's designs.
» Loop now stocks German hand dyed yarn, DyeForYarns. The yarn is a silk-merino mix (4ply / fingering weight), and the colours have great names with shades to match; Bat in a Dark Mood, Sunken Ship and Bloody Black Roses are a few examples!
Quince & Co at loop!
» Loop is one of only two shops in the world to have Quince & Co's fabulous yarn grace our shelves, and we are crazy about both the yarn and their wonderful patterns!
» Quince & Co yarns
» Quince & Co patterns
» Loop is over the moon to have a large selection of items designed or made by Nathalie Lete.
We have a range of her items in stock, including this sweet Little Red Riding Hood tin. They make great haberdashery tins and the other sized ones are great for knitting needles.

Loop gift vouchers

They are both chock-full of gorgeous designs that have been commissioned from an array of incredibly talented people (Leigh Radford, Debbie Bliss, Louisa Harding, Catherine Tough, Kristeen Griffin-Grimes and Kate Samphier amongst a host of other wonderful designers) working in knit and crochet. I was honoured that they took time out of their busy lives to contribute to the books.
There are designs for everything from cardigans, wraps, shrugs, dresses and capelets to throws, bags, tea cosies, lavender heart pillows and necklaces. Even a tent!
Some of the patterns are for beginners who might want a little nudge to learn new techniques, while others are quite advanced. We’re very proud of the books and hope you find some inspiration in them.
