A FEW YEARS AGO Nicole and Cordula of DyeForYarn started knitting lace shawls and were soon in need for more luxurious yarns in lace and fingering weight.
At that time it was pretty hard to get your hands on lace yarn in Germany, so they decided to dye their own.
That's where it all started. Soon they had dyed so many skeins that they thought about selling them on Etsy.
With their natural black, well, morbid humor they chose the company name quite quickly and as big Monthy Python fans they found the perfect sketch to match our yarn brand: the Ex-parrot one!.

We wanted to dye colours not usually available in your average yarn store - colours that are out of the normal range - because these are colours that Nicole and Cordula usually wear.
After a year of very hard work and a lot of fun they finally chose their perfect real life yarn store to sell the colours: loop, and we are thrilled to have them! |
