JUNO FIBRE ARTS is a Devon based yarn and fibre dyeing business, run from a tiny studio in a grand old building with far reaching views across the countryside to the sea.
"I have had a love of natural fibres for as long as I remember. My mother and grandmother are talented hand crafters and I was exposed to fleece selection, prep and spinning, natural dyeing, knitting and crocheting whilst growing up.
I started to dye my own yarn to add a new dimension to baby knits when my youngest was tiny and then progressed to supplying friends and family.
A little while later, I learned to spin on my Grandmother's Ashford wheel and was introduced to the world of spinning fibres. These skills were soon added to my yarn producing repertoire.
Before long I was making more than I could use. I couldn’t get enough of the process - the transformation, the endless colour possibilities - the wonderful alchemy of dyeing! |
...I couldn’t get enough of the process - the transformation, the endless colour possibilities - the wonderful alchemy of dyeing!...
Passionate about colour and inspired by my surroundings, I use a combination of dyeing methods to achieve graduated, blended colours and beautiful multi toned yarns and fibres.
Yarns are dyed in small batches of 2 – 10 skeins depending on the colour and method. I adore the spontaneity of creating unique, one off colourways but have an ever increasing core of repeatables. Due to the nature of hand dyeing, even these colours can vary between each dye lot, so please make sure you have enough yarn to complete your project." |
