MIGUEL PAZ, FOUNDER OF MISTI ALPACA was born and raised in Arequipa, Peru. For many generations his family has been involved in the alpaca fibre industry. Miguel's goal from the conception of Misti has been to provide the highest quality fibre, rich in colour, for the best value, without forgetting the special gift the alpaca has been to his family, ancestors and to his fellow Arequipenos.
Miguel and his wife Lisa dreamed of bringing the colours of Arequipa alive through their own handpaint studio. Misti has a special label for their handpaint collection. The label 'Peace, Love & Misti Alpaca' represents the finest collection of handpainted yarns from Misti's private handpaint studio.
The label represents Miguel's commitment to preserving the artistry of handpaint yarns and his mission to provide good jobs and fair wages and benefits to the people of his hometown.
