Fairisle & Colour Knitting with Brandon Mably 
Enjoy a creative knitting demonstration with Brandon Mably from the Kaffe Fassett Design Studio. This workshop will be for knitters who are interested in sharpening their colour observation in design.
Participants should know how to knit and purl – only the basic stocking stitch will be used in the workshop. This course inspires knitters to sharpen their observation of colour by working with a range of light and dark colors in contrasting tones. The experience gained should give knitters the confidence to use their own personal colour scheme in any of their own designs in the future.

Brandon Mably will give an introduction to the Persian Poppy design.
Students will work from the Persian Poppy Graph which will be provided.
Class participants should bring to class a selection of 6 light or bright colours for the poppy plus 6 dark or deeper colors for the background in a mixture of 4 ply or fingering weight yarns.
There will be extra colors of yarn available at loop so that Brandon can help students with other choices of colours.
Brandon will demonstrate the method of carrying yarn in fairisle and intarsia knitting and then work with students as they apply the technique to their own knitting.
Attention will be paid to colour, texture, pattern and everyone will work on a
swatch using at least 12 colours.
Only the basic stocking stitch will be used so this workshop is a great way for beginners as well who would like to start doing colourwork.

Brandon started teaching workshops with Kaffe Fassett 22 years ago. In Autumn 2008 Westminster Fibers launched Brandon’s first collection of fabric as part of the Kaffe Fassett collective range forming his own distinctive style and audience. As well as assisting Kaffe in his ‘Color in Design’ classes, Brandon has been the manager of the Kaffe Fassett Studio in London for over 22 years, and is a regular contributor to the design collections for the internationally distributed Rowan Knitting, Patchwork and Vogue Knitting Magazines amongst other publications.

Cancellation policy
Full refund of payment for a class will be given for cancellations only if the spot can be filled by another student. Please be considerate. We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given.
